Privacy policy

Vendretonauto.ca is operated by Auto Promo Montréal (9513-0068 Québec Inc.). This policy explains, in plain terms, how we collect, use, keep and protect your personal information, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25).
Person in charge of personal information
The person in charge is the president of Auto Promo Montréal. For any question, request for access, correction or deletion, or to withdraw your consent, email autopromo001@gmail.com or call (438) 871-9698.
Information collected
When you fill out the form: a description of your vehicle (year, make, model or vehicle identification number (VIN)), its mileage, its condition, your phone number and your postal code. We don't ask for anything else online.
During a sale, we also collect what is needed to buy the vehicle and transfer it at the SAAQ, such as your name, your ID and the registration certificate.
Why we collect it
Only to make you a purchase offer, call you back, arrange the pickup and complete the sale. We don't sell your information and we don't use it for advertising without your consent.
Consent
By sending the form, you consent to us using this information for the purposes above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us.
Who has access
Only the people in our business who handle your request have access to your information. Some providers help us run the website:
- Netlify, which hosts the site and receives form submissions. Its servers may be located outside Quebec, including in the United States.
- The public NHTSA database (U.S. government), to which your browser sends only the VIN, if you enter it, to fill in the year, make and model automatically. No other information is sent.
- Google Fonts, which provides the site's fonts. Your browser connects to it directly, which sends your IP address to Google.
Before entrusting information to a provider outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected there.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not currently use any advertising cookies or tracking tools. If we add any, they will be off by default and you will be able to accept or refuse them.
Some pages include a video hosted on YouTube. The video only loads if you click it, in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). At that point, YouTube (Google) may collect information under its own privacy policy.
Retention and security
Requests that don't lead to a sale are deleted after 12 months. Information related to a sale is kept as long as required by our legal and tax obligations. We take reasonable measures to protect your information against loss, unauthorized access and disclosure.
Your rights
You can ask to access your information, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Privacy incident
If a privacy incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as required by law.
